Welcome to website of the Kinsale Vintage & Classic Motor Club. Originally established in 1988 by a group of classic car enthusiasts, the club has since grown to a current membership of over 70 members. All members share a common passion their love of driving and preserving the classic cars of yesteryear. Indeed one could ask for no better setting than the historic town of Kinsale and the surrounding beauty of the West Cork countryside.
With a season long list of events that includes rallies, fun runs, charity fund raisers, summer BBQs and numerous other social events, new members can be assured of a friendly welcome and an event packed calendar. The high point of the club’s year occurs each May, in the form of The Kinsale International Vintage Rally. This is widely regarded as one of the premier events on the Irish classic car calendar. Held on the second weekend of May, annually, this non competitive 5 day rally (Fri-Mon) attracts drivers from all over Ireland, The UK and abroad.
Following the twinning of Kinsale with the Welsh town of Mumbles in 1990, KV&CMC also decided to twin with the town’s own car club, The Swansea Historic Vehicle Register. Each year sees large numbers of SHVR members make the trip to Kinsale for the May rally, a gesture that is returned each August when the club makes the return trip to Swansea.
